LindseyCrossFit Coach / Nutrition Expert
I started my CrossFit Journey about a year after I graduated high school. I have always loved sports and the competitive side that they brought out in me. At the time, I was going to a local “globo” gym, and just wasn’t getting the results I wanted. I knew from the very first time I stepped in to BlackFin CrossFit and completed a workout that this would be my new gym home.

In high school, I cheered competitively and also worked with the girls weightlifting team just for fun. I am now a graduate of UNF with a major in Sport Management and a minor in Professional Education. As much as I enjoy sports and athletics, I am equally passionate about helping others and teaching them how to better themselves. There is really nothing more exciting than seeing yourself and others reach physical and mental goals by bettering themselves through health and fitness. The community here at BlackFin is more like a family, and the relationships I have gained through this gym are no doubt, lifelong.

Sports and Athletics has always been a part of my life. From the earliest days on a soccer field, to the majority of my adolescence playing lacrosse and into my later teens & early twenties practicing yoga, I had understood and decided that fitness was going to be a non-negotiable part of my life.

When I was 17 years old, I became extremely fascinated with movement and the human body. How we breathe, adapt, bend, snap back, produce force, twist, all of it! I felt trapped in my body and these concepts showed that we could be free. Fast Forward to May 2017, I walked into my first CrossFit Gym out at Jax Beach. From lacrosse, I was familiar with all of the major lifts and had developed a fair bit of flexibility through the yoga I had been doing. I went through the on ramps and began joining classes. After a few months, I decided to get my CF L1. Since then, I have received USAW L1, CFL2, and my BS in Mechanical engineering degree from UNF.

My goal as a coach is to help people feel better, move better, and have better lives in the bodies that they live in.

I started CrossFit about 5 years ago and joined Blackfin 3 years ago. I swam competitively from about 8 years old and throughout college. After I stopped swimming I knew I needed to find somewhere to be part of another team and give myself a new challenge. CrossFit has help me push so many boundaries and I’ve reached goals I couldn’t imagine I’d ever achieve. CrossFit now keeps me sharp for my job as a firefighter. I never know what the job will throw at me, so being well rounded with my physical, mental and nutrition has kept me on my top level for whatever gets thrown at me.

I spent 22 years as a Helicopter Naval Aircrew-man, Rescue Swimmer and Combat Search and Rescue crew chief in the US Navy. During that time I served as an instructor for Aviation Rescue Swimmer School and later graduated from the US Coast Guards Advance Rescue Swimmer School. This was a demanding job that required constant physical fitness training to be prepared for any type of rescue situation. During my time in the Navy, I served as the Command Physical Fitness Coordinator for three different commands and responsible for assisting sailors reach and maintain thier fitness goals.

I was introduced to CrossFit while doing security contracting in Afghanistan, supporting the US Governments War on Terror and Operation Enduring Freedom. CrossFit allowed me to reach a level of physical fitness that enabled me to meet the challenges of another physically demanding job.

I attained my Level I Trainer qualification in September of 2012 and consider myself very fortunate to be one of the coaches at BlackFin CrossFit.
